A lot of these 80s horror franchises aren't really as great as people pretend they are. Seeing them for the 1st time as an adult really helps you judge them better because you're not wearing the nostalgia goggles

Rewatching this knowing what happened with the cancelation of the game makes me pretty sad, Im aware people don't like Phisnom, especially how he spoken to his viewers during a certain live stream but still, knowing it'll never come is just sad.

For me, I always knew by the AMPLE amount of symbolism in the originals that Freddy was a p3dofile however, I found it tolerable to the stomach to not have it blatantly in my face. The remake was TOO HEAVY. I wanted to like it, I wanted a revival of a classic horror, but Horror becomes too real when it is THIS straight forward. The camp of the originals made them what they became, classics. It's sort of like when we are hearing a comedian talk about uncomfortable topics vs a reporter or prosecuting attorney talk about them. One is easier to digest and we all know which one it is. It is because of the delivery. The remake was not delivered in the same way as the original. I've been with the franchise since the first game came out ten years prior. And twenty years prior, I saw the "SAW 1" poster at a movie theater, and after the internet was introduced to me a year after the first "SAW" movie came out, that's when it became my favorite horror franchise, along with other horror movies of the 2000s and before (Sci-Fi and Horror films my dad grew up with that my older siblings and I were introduced to as young children). So yeah, what a journey it has been, but at this point the franchise has stalled a bit since the death threats towards Scott Cawthon has occurred. So if he was still with the game series, I'd be curious where he would go in terms of where the franchise would head towards for the next 50 years to come. (50 years from 2014 is 2064 for those who wish to know when it would occur).
